The Chinese Garden of friendship is the place to add to your list if you are wondering where to spend a day picnicking and looking for the perfect place for a little scenic stroll following waterfalls, exotic plants, and hidden stone pathways. It is a really serene spot to have a peaceful day in the heart of the darling harbor. An ideal location for a picnic lunch.

My favorite activity of this garden tour is dressing up in a traditional Chinese Royal costume and walk around the garden like an emperor or empress. You can hire a traditional Chinese Imperial and Emperor Costume Set at gardens for a small fee ($10 per person approx.).
It only takes a few minutes to get dressed, and then you can go for a walk and just relax in the garden as long as you like.
If you are taking your kids with you then don’t forget to take the Emperor’s Quest to find all 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac hidden around the garden.
At the end of your stroll, enjoy a cup of traditional Chinese tea while watching the Koi fish and birds in the pond. Don’t miss out on feeding the fish.
