Horse Riding
See what the real hunter valley is like from the back of a horse! Riding a horse in the valley with beautiful mountain and valley views is really great experience to have. You don’t have to be an expert rider, horse riding tours are suitable for beginner through to the seasoned rider. The tours usually run from half an hour to an hour. Make sure you book in advance.
Hunter Valley Wine School
Learn more about wines and get familiar with the process of winemaking in a two-hour comprehensive tour with the Wine school. Try and taste different varieties of wine, walk through the vineyard, and learn more about the what makes the wines of hunter so special. After finishing get a personalised Wine Appreciation Certificate to take home with you.
This two-hour wine school tour will cost you approx. $60 per person.
Bluetongue Brewery
Now known as the Matilda Bay Brewhouse.
A boutique brewhouse located in the heart of hunter valley and has been an iconic destination to end a trip after finishing a day of wine tasting since it first opened in 2001.
Winemakers often say “It takes a lot of beer to make a quality wine…” So what better way to finish a hard day of wine tasting in the Wine Country than with a cleansing beer.

Hunter Valley Gardens
The largest privately-owned garden in Australia. The stunning Hunter Valley Gardens at Pokolbin. Garden is set on 225 hectares, with the main attractions being the 60 acres of international display gardens, featuring 10 amazingly themed gardens with influences from around the world.
